A substantial network of private dwellings extended around the forum; these were partially uncovered as a result of excavations in Place Bel-Air (1978-1982), Rue de la Gare and Rue du Collège (1992-1994).
On Place Bel-Air, the find of a house showed that the sector, which was abandoned around 250 A.D., had been occupied since 30/20 B.C. and that earth and wood had been used for the early construction. The model of the Mediterranean domus, organized round a colonnaded courtyard or a garden often decorated with ponds and sculptures, was adopted as from the first century A.D.
