"How do we create a historical comic strip today?"

Lecture in the context of the temporary exhibition "ArchéoAlix: Antiquity imag(in)ed by Jacques Martin"

Marc Jailloux, an artist who has inherited the mantle of Jacques Martin, answered this question by explaining how he wrote and drew the latest adventure of another Jacques Martin hero – Orion.

“Les Oracles” is the title of this adventure which takes place in the Hellenistic period. Marc Jailloux presented the written and photographic sources on which he based his creation. He also defined the limitations of archaeological reconstitution in this type of adventure, and what the author does when there are no sources to help him draw monuments, landscapes and daily life in Antiquity.

Marc Jailloux is also the author of the latest adventure of Alix, “La grande conquête”, a preview of which he presented to the Roman Museum.

The Roman Museum welcomed large numbers of visitors for the signing of preview copies of the latest adventure of Alix.
