Cultivating a Roman garden<\/h2>\n\n

Gardens(horti<\/em>), which generally adorned large Roman villas, were both decorative and practical. They played an important role in funerary rituals and provided a place to grow plants with medicinal and nutritional properties. This was particularly true of thyme, savory and lavender. <\/p>\n\n
