Weakened and destabilized, the statue of Julius Caesar enthroned above the Roman Museum suffered this summer. It will be removed on Wednesday August 28 for a complete repair in the workshop, which will take one to two weeks.<\/p>\n\n

The statue’s popularity is certainly the cause of its deterioration. The assaults she endured, for fun or to take photos and selfies, took their toll on her stability.<\/p>\n\n

This is a copy of a statue of Julius Caesar. The original marble statue dates from the2nd<\/sup> century AD and can be found in Rome, in the Council Chamber of the Capitoline Hill.<\/p>\n
