Following the success of the information session held on Thursday March 12, which is now fully booked, the Municipality is organizing a second public meeting on Thursday March 19 at 6.15pm, at the Salle du Conseil communal (Ferme du Manoir, rue Maupertuis 1).<\/strong> <\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

This event will provide an opportunity to discover the state of progress of a major project for Nyon’s ancient heritage. The presentation will cover the architectural, landscape and scenographic dimensions of the site. It will provide an overview of the studies carried out to date and the plans for enhancing the monument. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

It should be noted that the project will be based on minimal and partly reversible intervention, respecting the integrity of the site’s high heritage value. It will aim to preserve the authenticity of the remains while making them accessible.<\/p>\n\n

The amphitheatre will be designed as a living archaeological park, fully integrated into the city, open to encounters, transmission and contemplation. In this way, the project will make a lasting contribution to the everyday life of the people of Nyons. <\/p>\n\n

The scenography will emphasize an immersive, educational approach. A mediation area will welcome groups, classes and conferences. The whole will offer great flexibility of use, without altering the existing site. <\/p>\n\n

The “Amphitheatre” exhibition covers its construction, location, age and burial, function, and the place of animals, gladiators and women in the arena. In its second phase, the exhibition is completed by two new sections: a presentation of the project to preserve and enhance the monument, and interviews and videos on the discovery of the site and its development. <\/p>\n\n
