The amphitheatre on display

June 1996, Roman walls appear under the bucket of a mechanical shovel on rue de la Porcelaine in Nyon. The curvature of the wall leaves no doubt as to the nature of the building uncovered: this is the Noviodunum amphitheatre. Twenty-eight years later, the Roman Museum of Nyon is revisiting the photographs taken during the excavation of the monument by Archeodunum Investigations Archéologiques SA. These images, which showcase the work of archaeologists, are displayed on several billboards in the town of Nyon.

Guided tours retracing the discovery of the amphitheatre are scheduled for January 5 and 19, 2025 at 3pm. Duration 1h. All audiences. Visits free of charge and without registration.
