Amphitheatre: public presentation of the preservation and enhancement project

Following the success of the information session held on Thursday March 12, which is now fully booked, the Municipality is organizing a second public meeting on Thursday March 19 at 6.15pm, at the Salle du Conseil communal (Ferme du Manoir, rue Maupertuis 1).

Open by registration until March 18This event will provide an opportunity to discover the state of progress of a major project for Nyon’s ancient heritage. The presentation will cover the architectural, landscape and scenographic dimensions of the site. It will provide an overview of the studies carried out to date and the plans for enhancing the monument.

The amphitheatre will be designed as a living archaeological park, fully integrated into the city, open to encounters, transmission and contemplation. In this way, the project will make a lasting contribution to the everyday life of the people of Nyons.

The scenography will emphasize an immersive, educational approach. A mediation area will welcome groups, classes and conferences. The whole will offer great flexibility of use, without altering the existing site.

The evening will continue at the Roman Museum, which will be exceptionally open from 7.30pm to 9pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the Amphitheatre? exhibition, enriched with new content highlighting the challenges of conserving the monument and its future development.
