A triumphant 2026 Roman Days event with more than 6,000 visitors!

Ten years after their first edition, the Roman Days brought Nyon to life on June 6 and 7, 2026, between the Esplanade des Marronniers, the Roman Museum, and the amphitheater. This event, now a tradition, was organized by enthusiasts, artisans, actors, and experts from Switzerland and France.

The amphitheater was opened to the public on a special basis; gladiator battles and Roman legion drills brought the esplanade to life, while folktales and mythological stories echoed throughout the weekend. Artisans revealed the ancient secrets of glassblowing, ceramics, leatherwork, dyeing, and perfumery, and the public had the chance to weave wreaths from plants, try on togas and peplos, or treat their taste buds to ancient flavors.

The two-day event was a great success:

• 6,003 visits
• 8 guided walks between the arena and the museum, exploring the amphitheater,
• 6 gladiator fights and 6 introductory gladiator sessions for children,
• 4 demonstrations by the Roman Legion,
• 12 theater performances and 8 storytelling sessions,
• 9 booths showcasing all aspects of archaeology and antiquity through games, crafts, workshops, tastings, and demonstrations.
