Thanks to carefully programmed interventions during major infrastructure works, archaeological knowledge of the first colony founded by the Romans in Helvetian territory, Colonia Iulia Equestris, was completely renewed in the late 1980s. A richly illustrated assessment of the results of this research has been published in the famous “Dossiers d’archéologie”.
